Before You Call

Initial appointments may be made by calling the Presbyterian Counseling Center at 336-288-1484 dial extension 100.  Counseling sessions for Psychotherapists are approximately 50 minutes in length.  In general, appointments are available Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Limited evening appointments are also available after the initial assessment. Friday, we are closed.

Your First Visit

Arrive at least 30 minutes in advance for your first appointment to fill out the required paperwork, or download the forms from our website, fill them in and bring them at the time of your appointment

Please check in at the front desk, and your therapist or medical provider will come and find you shortly.

Children/Adolescents
If you are bringing a minor (under the age of 18) for therapy or medication management, we will need all parents or guardians who have custody of the child to SIGN the informed consent form; i.e., if the child is living with both parents, they both need to sign; if parents are separated or divorced, and share legal custody, both need to sign; if one parent has legal custody, only that parent needs to sign; and if the child is under guardianship, the guardian needs to sign.  If both custodial parents cannot come to the first session, you may print the intake packet from our website, have the absent parent sign all pages with a place for a signature, and bring it to your first appointment. Child custody papers are required to verify if only one parent has legal custody.

Cancellations:

Cancellations with your therapist should be made at least 24 hours in advance.  You will be charged a fee for an appointment that has not been canceled with a 24-hour advance notice.  Insurance does not pay for missed appointments.
